Generally, any pipe that serves only your property and sits within your boundary is your responsibility. Once the pipe leaves your boundary or joins with a neighbour's pipe, it usually becomes a "public lateral sewer" under the care of Northumbrian Water. We always check this during our initial CCTV survey. If the fault lies on the water authority’s network, we will tell you so you don't pay for a repair that isn't your responsibility.

While trenchless technology is incredibly versatile, the pipe must have some structural integrity left. If a pipe has completely collapsed and the bore is totally blocked by soil and rubble, we may have to excavate. However, we use our cameras to check every option for relining or patch repair first to keep your costs and disruption to a minimum.

The structural liners we install are designed to last for decades. Most industry estimates put the lifespan of a modern resin liner at 50 years or more. Because the material is resistant to corrosion and root penetration, it often outlasts the original clay or pitch fibre pipe it is sitting inside.

The reduction in the internal diameter is very small—usually only a few millimetres. However, because the resin surface is much smoother than old clay or corroded cast iron, the flow characteristics often improve. This means waste moves through the system more efficiently, reducing the risk of future build-ups.

The savings come from more than just the labour. Traditional excavation involves the cost of a digger, several days of manual work, and the expensive reinstatement of your driveway, lawn, or paving. A no-dig repair usually costs significantly less because we don't have to rebuild your garden or driveway once the pipe is fixed.

Yes. If builders have washed mortar or concrete down your drains, we use specialist high-pressure mechanical milling tools to grind the material away. Once we have restored the full bore of the pipe, we can then apply a liner if the concrete caused any structural damage during its removal or while it was set.
